Decentralization: Selective current distribution and protection directly in the field.
September 2020

For many companies the power supply has been an obstacle on the path to consistent decentralization. In particular, where functions such as selective current distribution, protection and condition monitoring needs to be implemented, all while providing maximum reliability and uptime.

This White Paper will explain how you can achieve these requirements with an all-in-one power supply: the FIEPOS eFused series.

UL 61010 replaces UL 508 for industrial power supplies

The efforts in the United States to adopt international standards instead of insisting on national norms, has been a very positive move. In regards to power supplies, ANSI/UL 61010-1 and ANSI/UL 61010-2-201 have replaced the old UL 508 standard for industrial control equipment. This makes fulfilling the global regulatory requirements considerably easier for power supply manufacturers and their users. Learn more about the changes in our white paper.

EN 61010 – New standard for power supplies in industrial applications

The end of the EN 60950-1 will require power supply manufacturers to take action. Although the Official Journal of the EU cites EN 62368-1 as the successor to EN 60950-1, the alternative applicable standards of the EN 61010 series have significant advantages in the safety evaluation of industrial power supplies. Read our white paper to learn more.

Efficiency of DIN rail power supplies – Small differences, great savings

When designing new products, a large part of the development work is dedicated to the minimisation of no-load losses in the form of heat. But how does this actually affect the user's cabinets?

Efficient redundancy for power supplies

Redundancy modules guarantee reliable system availability, even if a power supply fails. However, the decoupling diodes in the module lead to high power losses in form of heat and a large voltage drop. PULS replaces the diodes with efficient Mosfets.

Accurate efficiency measurement is of interest to the customers

Modern power supplies are characterised by ever higher efficiency values. But can customers actually rely on the efficiency specifications listed in datasheets provided by the manufacturer? Can the customer measure such a thing by himself and what does he have to consider?

Reliability: Specification of MTBF and service life for PULS power supplies

The terms ‘MTBF’ and ‘service life’ are often mixed up or used interchangeably. However, these refer to different processes and both values are needed to describe reliability. What they have in common is that higher temperatures make the values much worse. Learn more.

It can‘t always be lead capacitor-based buffer modules

Up to now, lead-acid batteries have been used almost exclusively in DCUPS systems for industrial installations. However, users have had to put up with the disadvantages of the limited lifetime, restricted temperature range and high weight of such batteries.
